About the "Thinking writing" course:
Writing is not merely a formal exercise or requirement, in particular when it comes to thinking. It represents the objectification of our thoughts, which can then be observed with distance and more objectivity. When remaining in the mind, as a virtual reality, ideas tend to me more chaotic, more inchoate, the subject is less conscious of their true nature, which can as well be quite illusory. Writing them out is therefore a challenge, by elaborating a coherent, meaningful construction, engaging its author to a composition, in a work of art. And of course, it can then be seen by others, providing the occasion for a fruitful dialogue. But numerous people have a hard time writing.
procrastination
erasing
giving up
fearing
chronic disatisfaction
chaos
Anxiety about mistakes, about banality, about failing, about external judgement blocks their hand and their mind.
In this workshop, we will:
discuss and analyze the various obstacles in the practice of writing,
we will provide techniques and procedures in order to overcome those difficulties.
The simple fact of a collective endeavor will take the writer out of his anguishing solitude. Each one will work on what motivates him, but we will identify what inhibits the writing process, and how we can allow it to proceed further. There will be collective writing moments, and daily work to accomplish by oneself.
The training will take place over ten weeks, with a weekly encounter of 120 minutes and a daily task of thirty minutes, or more if the writer feels motivated.
