About the writing course:Writing is not merely a formal exercise or requirement, especially when it comes to thinking. It represents the externalization of our thoughts, which can then be observed with distance and greater objectivity. When thoughts remain confined to the mind, they tend to be more chaotic and inchoate, and the thinker is often less aware of their true nature, which can be illusory. Writing them out is, therefore, a challenge: it requires crafting a coherent and meaningful structure, engaging the writer in the process of composition as an art form. Once written, it can also be shared with others, providing an opportunity for fruitful dialogue. However, many people struggle with writing.
Obstacles include:Procrastination
Erasing
Giving up
Fear
Chronic dissatisfaction
Chaos
Anxiety about mistakes, banality, failure, and external judgment often block the writer's hand and mind.
In this workshop, we will:
- Discuss and analyze the various obstacles in the practice of writing.
- Provide techniques and strategies to overcome these difficulties.
Engaging in a collective endeavor will help take the writer out of their solitary anxiety. Each participant will focus on what motivates them, but we will also identify the barriers that inhibit the writing process and explore ways to allow it to flow more freely.
The course will run for 4 weeks, with a weekly 120-minute session and weekly exercises and tasks. You will be encouraged to develop a project and work on it throughout the entire month.
